Biography

Dr. Shivayogi (Shiv) Hiremath is an associate professor in the Department of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø. Dr. Hiremath is also the director of the Personal Health Informatics and Rehabilitation Engineering (PHIRE) Laboratory, °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø. His research focuses on studying the health and physical activity patterns of people with disabilities in the community through wearable sensors and smartphone-based technologies. His research has been supported by federal agencies such as the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR); National Institutes of Health (NIH); and foundations such as the Craig H. Neilsen Foundation and Paralyzed Veterans of America Research Foundation.
