Pre-college Programs

Middle and high school studentsÌýcan get a head start on preparing for college by participating in one of °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø's pre-college programs.Ìý

B4USoar

The B4USoar program is open to PhiladelphiaÌýpublic and charter high school studentsÌýand gives them the opportunity to attend free college classes. Open to high school juniors and seniors, students prepare for college by attending classes and participating in mentorships. .Ìý

Pre-College Workshops

Each summer, °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø offers pre-college workshops for students entering grades 10, 11 and 12. Students participate in noncredit workshops that provide opportunities to explore college majors and take part in collaborativeÌýlearning experiences. .

Pre-College Study Abroad: Rome

StudentsÌýentering grades 10, 11Ìýor 12 can travel and study abroad through our pre-college program at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹Ù꿉۪s Rome Campus. Over 10 days, students participate in daily workshops that cover multiple topics and explore Rome and its history. .

Saturday College

°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø offers the Saturday College program, a pre-college program that provides opportunities for middle school students in Philadelphia to engage in academic subjects in a fun way. Summer Institutes and Intensives

Students in the two-week summer institutes and intensive workshops at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø's Main CampusÌýcomplete full-day, noncredit workshops focused on a specific topic. .

°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø Summer Academy

Students entering grades 11 or 12 can complete aÌýrigorous, focused program over one month in summer. Students will take a three- or four-credit undergraduate courseÌýor two workshops, and they can earn a °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø tuition grant upon successful completion of the program. and the grant by reviewing the application and program requirements.Ìý

Art and Culture

Rite of Swing Jazz Café

The Rite of Swing JazzÌýCafé brings together guest artists, students and facultyÌýfrom the Boyer College of Music and Dance, who perform jazz for the public onÌýselect Thursdays from 4:30 toÌý6:30 p.m. at the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø Performing Arts Center in the fall and spring.

Charles L. Blockson Afro-American Collection

The Charles L. Blockson Afro-American Collection at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø is one of the nation's leading research facilities for the study of the history and culture of people of African descent. With more than 500,000 items related to the global Black experience on display, includingÌýbooks, sheet music,Ìýnewspapers and photographs, everyone is encouraged to view the collection. and plan your visit.
